Lost For Words

I was thinking about all the things I could say
But the words slipped my mind before you turned away
I was wondering how I could move you to wait
But as the words crossed the room I knew it was too late

Lost for words…………

Well, there once was a time I had so much to say
But now the harder I try, the words just get in the way
Then there were so many unfinished things to discuss
But now I sit in silence to the memory of us

Lost for words…………

As I stand here I can hardly believe
That I am waiting and watching you leave
My mouth is open but the words, they have died
And I can’t tell you what I still feel inside

I was thinking about all the good we did then
And how the worst of it is that I am losing a friend
Well, there are not many chances left if we are to talk
But still I’m helpless to act now as I’m watching you walk

Lost for words…………

Stargazing

Moonlight on the water, shadows on the wall
Only a reflection, don’t mean nothing at all
You and me together – is it just a dream?
Wondering just whether………………….

I might as well be Stargazing, staring at the sky
Hoping that you’ll think of me, but knowing it’s a lie
Soul-searching, trying to look within
Praying for a miracle, will I ever win your love?

Tired of this pretending, tired of wasting time
Time I should be spending trying to make you mine
Can’t go on forever, head up in the clouds
Wondering just whether…………………..

I might as well be Stargazing, staring at the sky
Hoping that you’ll think of me, but knowing it’s a lie
Soul-searching, trying to look within
Praying for a miracle, will I ever win your love?

Dead Men’s Shoes

Sun on the horizon, blood on the news
Nothing is surprising when there’s nothing to lose
Brothers, mothers, sisters never calling a truce
Walk into the future in a dead man’s shoes

Dead man’s shoes……………

Walking through the valley with my God by my side
I can feel a shadow but there’s nowhere to hide
Souls who went before me, with me every stride
Following their footsteps to my own suicide

Suicide…………….

Ill wind blowing through this land
Dust thrown in our eyes
Signs that we don’t understand
Veil the truth with lies

Heaven has a forfeit, into hell we descend
Any price is worth it – it’s a means to an end
Every kind of danger, it’s so hard to defend
All you see is anger and the shoes of dead men

Dead men’s shoes……………

Desperation of the dead
Comes as no surprise
Freedom, Justice, Peace led
Right between the eyes

Lest We Forget

Shoulder to shoulder they stand
Strangers in a foreign land
And, though they fight for one and all
Will we remember them at all?

So, when the battle cries subside
We have a duty to provide
A legion strong and standing tall
To pick them up if they should fall

If we forget would they forgive?
They gave their lives so we could live
To those who serve we owe a debt
Lest we forget, lest we forget

The crimson setting of the sun
Bleeding its light on everyone
What will it show when all is done
A sad reflection in a gun?

And, as their bodies hit the ground
Scattered like poppies all around
This is no sleep from which they wake
They killed their dreams for Freedom’s sake

If we forget, would they forgive?
They gave their lives so we could live
To those who serve, we owe a debt
Lest we forget, lest we forget

Last Throw Of The Dice

I’m driving home from your house, I‘ve got the radio on
There ain’t no one else about, on this road I’m alone
The sound of the engine humming drives the thoughts in my head
Babe, if I thought we still had something, well, I’d have never left

Well, the rain’s still coming down and my tears have started flowing
But when I reach the edge of your town, the music keeps me going
You see I’ve known you for so long, but I don’t know you any more
And it’s the same old sad, sad song, been sung so many times before

So easy to say, so hard to see it through
‘Cause what’s pushing me away, pulls me back to you

This is the song I couldn’t write, the words I never thought I’d say
Never thought I’d lose the fight, never thought I’d walk away
But now I find I’m standing here at the edge of no return
Should I turn and face my fears, or will we only crash and burn?

So now it’s all come down to this – down to the last throw of the dice
How well I know what I could miss, but then it comes at such a price
You see I’ve paid so much, so long that I don’t owe you any more
And it’s the same old sad, sad song been sung so many times before

So easy to say, so hard to see it through
‘Cause this love I’m running from is tearing me in two

Leap Of Faith

Fortune smiles on the brave of heart
But you cannot win if you don’t take part
There’s no luck to make if you play it safe
It’s the chance you take, it’s a leap of faith

Leap of faith
Leap of faith

It could be you that takes the prize
But you cannot see if you close your eyes
There’s so much to gain and so much to waste
Better play the game – make a Leap of Faith

Leap of faith
Leap of faith

And I believe in you! ( nah – nah-na nah nah nah nah etc…...)

Take A Friend’s Advice

Take a friend’s advice
Look into his eyes
You will realize what’s on your mind

And you can be sure
What you’re looking for
You need search no more – it’s there to find

The salt in my tears makes me thirst for you more
I’ve been crying for years – girl, if only you saw

Take a closer look
I’m an open book
All the strength you took will still be there

And if you read on
You will see how strong
We could both become – it’s written there

So don’t close your eyes, don’t let this love be blind
And you’ll realize

Oh-h the one you can trust
Oh-h if you could just take a moment to…

Take a second glance
Given half a chance
This is one romance that’s meant to be

And you can’t deny
What you feel inside
Hidden in your eyes for all to see

So trust in your soul
Let your heart be your guide
Together we’re whole
Together we’re right

You Make Me

You make me laugh, you make me cry
You paint a rainbow in my sky

You fill my soul, you make me whole
When I’m with you, I’ve got it all

You make me smile, you make me sing
You give me style, you give me wings
And all the while,
You make me

You make me glad, you make me mad
If love’s the drug, I’ve got you bad

You’re in my veins, I feel your pain
I need your love to keep me sane

You make me live, you make me die
When I am low, you make me high
You need to know
You make me

Romeo needed his Juliet
Every yin must have its yang
You’re the light behind my silhouette
I’m complete in your hands!

You lift the cloud over my doubt
You always make the sun come out

You make me proud, I’ll shout it loud
We’re standing out above the crowd

You make me fly, you make me land
If I don’t know why, you’ll understand
I can’t deny
You make me…

Shadow Fighting

There’s a man I used to know; where he’s gone to, no-one knows
Maybe where the four winds blow, maybe he just died

I will be that man no more, hurting people I adore
Life is too short to ignore the pain I feel inside

I have trod that narrow path for the worst part of my life
Chasing shadows in the dark, raging hard against the light
But shadow fighting was a waste of time,
‘Cause the only ghost that haunted me was mine

Drove myself out to beyond where the silent nightmares run
Where I thought my soul belonged, sorrow at my side

Ran on empty every night, one eye on that curséd light
Always running, trying to hide, but to myself I lied

And I never read the signs, always trying to run the lights
How I loved to cross the line, blaming everyone in sight
But every road I took just went to prove
That searching took me further from the truth

My Song

Been too long playing my song
To know just how it ends

Once again and now, as then
It all on me depends

Stared into the horizon
To see how far it goes
Reflections can be surprising
You don’t know what you don’t know

Filled my soul with rock & roll
And all the joy it brings

Thoughts are words that must be heard
And how my heart can sing!

Stood half-way up the mountain
And took a look around
A million steps and still counting
Head up high, feet on the ground

Pulled up off of the highway
To check the road ahead

But I just need to go my way
Follow where it takes me instead

Been too long playing my song
To know just how it ends…

Whispering Wind

Calm in a storm,
Shelter from harm
Eye of a hurricane

Borne on a breeze
Blown in the leaves
Found in a flickering flame

I am the whispering wind
I leave you the way I came in
Who knows where I end or begin?
I am the whispering wind

Tears of the proud
Form in a cloud
Fall as tomorrow’s rain

Sooner you feel
Faster you heal
Skies can be clear again

I am the first fallen rain
The blood of the Earth fills my veins
I wash away heartache and pain
I am the fall of new rain

I am the new morning sun
The light of a day just begun
The promise of warmth yet to come
I am the new morning sun

Your Flame

I dance ‘round your flame
Playing with the heat
Entranced by the bitter-sweet
Promise of your entice

I long for you to draw me in
That we may burn together bright
An eternal, incandescent light
Through this, my sacrifice

I dance ‘round your flame
Consumed by the thrill
Lingering nearer until
Overwhelmed by its power

My soul is wrapped in Pleasure’s robes
And all the passion you inspire
Devours me in its honeyed fire
Awakes me in your opened flower...xxx
